How to Hide a Mixpod Music Player on Myspace While it Is Still Playing

When you create a music player on the MixPod music website, you automatically get the code that lets you share your chosen songs on your Myspace profile. Your music appears in a decorative player, such as an iPod, but you can hide this feature on Myspace by editing the code that MixPod provides. Change your MixPod player so visitors see nothing and only hear the music playing, by using the tools in your Myspace account.

Instructions

    • 1

      Log in to your Myspace account. Click the "Profile" link at the top and then click the "Customize" button that appears under your name.

    • 2

      Click the "Modules & Marquee" button in the header. Click either the "Modules" or "Marquee" button that displays to gain access to the area that displays your MixPod music player. Modules control specific sections on your page, such as your blog, and the marquee is the header region above your profile content.

    • 3

      Hover your mouse over the desired module or marquee box and click the "Settings" link that appears in the top-right corner. This task brings up the text box that contains your music player code.

    • 4

      Locate the "width" and "height" attributes in the code and type "0" in place of the existing number values. Further, find the "visibility" entry and type "hidden" in place of the "visible" value; for example:

      <embed src="MixPod URL address" width="0" height="0" style="visibility:hidden; width:0px; height:0px;" />

      The width and height attributes appear in two places in the code.

    • 5

      Click the "Save changes" button in the lower-right corner, and then click the "X" at the top of the box to exit.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your music player does not start automatically upon page load, find the "autoplay" attribute in the MixPod code and type "true" in place of the current value.
