How to Hang a Skeleton on Steel Cabinets

Display your skeleton on the side of a steel cabinet.

Utilize the empty space on the side of a steel cabinet to display a skeleton, whether you're decorating for Halloween or using a realistic skeleton for a science class. Simple tape may work for a paper skeleton, while something stronger is necessary for a heavier skeleton made of plastic or other materials. The heavier your skeleton is, the more hanging points you'll need. Create multiple hanging points if you plant to position and reposition the skeleton frequently, such as if the skeleton is being used for a class. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Glue a clear bead to the top side of a small magnet using hot glue. Position the bead on its side so the hole used for threading the bead is accessible on both sides. Make as many bead magnets as you need. Typically, at least six magnets are needed to hold up a skeleton, though more magnets will hold heavier skeletons and allow you to manipulate the skeleton in more positions.

    • 2

Cut the thread or fishing line into 4- or 5-inch strips. Cut enough strips for one per bead magnet.

    • 3

Thread the fishing line or thread through the bead and pull the thread so it hangs evenly from the bead.

    • 4

Place the magnets on the steel cabinet where you plan to hang the skeleton. Place one near the top of the neck, one near the waist, one near each wrist and one near each ankle. Add as many as you feel necessary.

    • 5

Hold the skeleton in place and tie the string or fishing wire around the corresponding part of the skeleton. For example, tie the wire around the skeleton's right wrist using the bead magnet nearest to the wrist. Tie the ties in small knots.

    • 6

Reposition the magnets to pose the skeleton the way you want it.
