How to Add a Squeeze Video to a WordPress Blog
In website marketing, a “squeeze page” is a Web page containing an incentive -- such as a free product or a special offer -- for the user to provide an email address. It is also known as an opt-in page, or a lead capture page. The aim is to build a list of subscribers to whom future products and offers can be promoted. Many techniques are employed to entice the user to sign up, one of which is to add a “squeeze video” -- an embedded video outlining benefits to the visitors and generally persuading them to sign up.

1
Log into your WordPress admin control panel. Click “Pages,” then “Add New.” Using a page instead of a post will keep your squeeze video out of the main blog chronology, where the attached date might lead later visitors to think the offer is old or out-of-date.
-
2
Type a title for the squeeze page in the text bar near the top of the screen. Add a benefit in the title if you wish, such as “Sign up to the newsletter and receive a free report” instead of “Newsletter.”

-
3
Write your offer in the main text area. Your copy should outline what you are willing to trade the visitor in exchange for their email address. Focus on benefits rather than descriptions in order to increase conversion rates.
-
4
Open a new tab in your browser and log into your YouTube account. If you do not have a YouTube account, either go to YouTube.com and click the “Sign Up” link and follow the instructions, or you can log in with your Google account if you have one.
-
5
Click the “Upload” link next to the main search bar at the top of the screen. Click “Upload Video,” then browse to the location of your squeeze video on your hard drive. Double-click it when you find it. Add a title, description and category in the spaces provided, then click “Save Changes.”
-
6
Wait for the video to finish uploading, then click “My Videos” and click the title of the video. Click “Share,” then “Embed,” and then copy the code that appears in the box below. Alternatively, you can simply paste the URL of the video, but the previous method allows you to change the height and width attributes in the code so the video fits your page better.
-
7
Go back to the WordPress tab. Paste the code into your page at the location where you want the squeeze video to go. Click “Publish” when you are happy with the page to publish it on your WordPress site.
