How to Install a Boss Webcam

Boss webcams may be used with both notebook and desktop computers.

Boss webcams may be freestanding or attached to your notebook computer or desktop computer monitor, depending on the model. Sold in a variety of models and megapixel resolution, these webcams are typically used in connection with Windows-based computer systems. By connecting the Boss webcam to your computer with a USB cable, you may begin using it after you install the appropriate drivers.

Instructions

1. Connect the appropriate USB cable ends to the Boss webcam and available USB port on the computer. If your Boss webcam model includes a separate power cord, insert one end into the webcam and the other into a power outlet.

2. Turn on the webcam and computer. When your computer recognizes the webcam, a separate popup window will generate. Click the “Installing driver device” balloon near the taskbar to check the status of the driver installation. Windows will automatically search for and install the appropriate driver. If Windows is unable to do so, skip to step 3.

3. Insert the driver disc that came with the Boss webcam into the CD/DVD drive on your computer. If you do not have the disc, check web sites, such as Software Informer (software.informer.com), for the appropriate drivers. Click the link for the desired driver and follow the installation wizard instructions to install the driver for the webcam.
