How Can I Watch a Camera on an SVGA Monitor?

In 1987, a consortium of monitor manufactures developed the SVGA, or Super Video Graphics Array, standard. Originally, SVGA called for a maximum 800x600 screen resolution using 4 bits and only 16 colors. In the mid-2000s, final versions of the SVGA required 1024x768 resolutions using 32 bits and a virtually unlimited number of colors. In most cases, you can view a webcam or camcorder on a SVGA monitor with minimal effort However, depending on the age, and size of the monitor, you might have to adjust resolution and advanced monitor settings on the computer before video images display properly.
