Hot to Set Up Sonicwall Gatekeeper

The Sonicwall VoIP router lets you set up a system for telephony equipment for your office. The "Gatekeeper" software sets up rules to route the telephone calls to a server and directly to the intended recipient. The Sonicwall router has a wizard that helps you configure the router, so you do not need any advanced experienced with telephony equipment.

      Open an Internet browser on a computer connected to the router. Type the IP of the router and log in to the system. Click the "Firewall" link in the navigation panel and click " Access Rules." Click "Add Rule" to start the wizard.

      Click "Add New Group" to configure the Gatekeeper service. To configure the service, set up groups with a list of IP addresses. The Gatekeeper service detects the recipient and automatically routes the user to the right recipient.

      Click "Gatekeeper Discovery" from the list of options. Click "Create New Network." In the "IP Address Range" text boxes, type the IP range for your internal phone network. Add the "Everyone" group to the list of users who can access the system.

      Click "Maximum Bandwidth" to allow full use of the network resources for phone calls. Click "Save" to save the changes.
