How to Make Bracelets Without Beads at Home
Homemade bracelets can be made from a wide variety of mediums that do not require the use of beads. Children and adults alike have always made friendship bracelets from simple embroidery floss because the weaving process can be mastered with just a few quick attempts. These steps are not hard to grasp so you can create multiple bracelets out of any combination of colors and, best of all, they are inexpensive to make.
Instructions
-
-
1
Tie four strands of different colored embroidery floss together 1 inch from the ends.
-
2
Tape the knot to a flat surface.
-
-
3
Separate each strand in the order of the colors you wish to weave into the bracelet.
-
4
Loop the first color strand over and then under the second. Hold the second strand taut as you tie the first strand in a knot around it. Repeat the process so you are left with a double knot.
-
5
Take the first strand and repeat Step 4 around the remaining strands, making sure to hold each one tightly and making a double knot as directed.
-
6
Grasp the second color strand in hand and loop it over and under the next strand. Continue doing the same thing to all of the other strands to form a row of that color across the bracelet.
-
7
Repeat the process with the next color strands and continue weaving each strand in succession around the others in double knots until the bracelet reaches the desired length.
-
8
Tie the remainder of the strands together into a knot that resembles the first knot in Step 1.
-
9
Trim the excess length from the strands, making sure you leave enough intact so the bracelet can be tied on to your wrist.
