How to Add Subtitles With the Software Sonic Record

Adding subtitles to a video in Sonic Record is relatively easy.

The Sonic Record software gives you the ability to make copies of your CDs and DVDs, create new CDs and DVDs, and transfer data from optical discs to your computer. If you have a video file and want to see subtitles, you must first obtain a subtitles file. You can then use Sonic Record to add the subtitles to your video file. The software can also synchronize the subtitles with the video.

Instructions

1. Double-click the “Sonic Record” icon on your desktop or in the Windows “Start” menu to launch the software.

2. Select “Open” from the File menu. Use the file browser to highlight the movie you want to enhance with subtitles and click the “Open” button. The movie opens as a new project in Sonic Record.

3. Right-click inside the “Timeline” pane and select the “Import Subtitles” option. The Open File dialogue box appears. Highlight the subtitles file and then click "Open" to process and import the subtitles to your Sonic Record project. If the subtitle strings contain errors, you will see them in the Import Subtitles dialogue box. You can click the small “Save” icon at the top-right corner of the error list to save the error file.

4. Click the “Close” button after the program finishes importing the subtitles. If you find errors, fix them and import the subtitles again. The new subtitles will be displayed in the Timeline pane, inside the Subtitle Track section.

5. Double-click your subtitle track in the Subtitle Track section to enter editing mode. The Edit Subtitles window will open. Make any changes to your subtitles desired and click the “OK” button to update the subtitles.

6. Select a frame from the Timeline and click the “Add” button if you want to add a subtitle string. You will see the Subtitle Text box, where you must enter your text. Hold the “Ctrl” key and press “Enter” to confirm the subtitle.
