How to Share with Foobar

Foobar2000 is a media player for the Windows operating system. The player is free to use and comes with a basic interface that allows you to install themes and make interface modifications. If you want to share your Foobar2000 music library with other users on your network, you can easily do so by setting up network file sharing permissions in Windows.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Foobar2000 Media Player. Click the Library menu tab.

    • 2

Click Configure. View the folder(s) in the Music Library section. The folder listed contains your audio tracks.

    • 3

Click the Windows "Start" button, and then select Computer. Navigate to the directory containing the folder with your Foobar2000 audio tracks.

    • 4

Right-click the folder containing your audio tracks. Select Properties. Click the Sharing tab, and then click Share.

    • 5

Choose the users on the network with whom you want to share. If you want to share your music with everyone connected to your network, select Everyone. Click "Add."

    • 6

Select the permission level. It's a good idea to choose Read, as this gives the users the ability to listen to your music, but does not allow them to add files or delete them. If you want users to have full access to your music files, select Read/Write. Click "Share" to begin sharing your music.
