Although you could replace the table with a newer one, you may not have the budget to buy new furniture. One option is to wrap the tabletop with a durable and decorative fabric, such as linen. Things You'll Need

  • Measuring tape
  • Linen fabric
  • Scissors
  • Iron
  • Staple gun

Instructions

      Measure the top of a decorative table, then cut out a piece of linen fabric using the same measurements, adding on 2 inches along each side.

      Lay the linen fabric onto a flat surface, and smooth out any wrinkles. If any wrinkle exist that cannot be smoothed with your hands, iron the linen fabric to remove all wrinkling.

      Lay the table upside down on top of the fabric, centering the tabletop in the middle of the fabric.

      Fold the sides of the fabric up and over the edges of the table, one at a time, stapling them in place as you fold using a staple gun. Keep the linen fabric taut as you staple.

      Turn the linen-wrapped table right side up and trim off any excess fabric before use.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stencil a design in the center of the linen-wrapped table to make the fabric look more decorative.

  • Keep hot irons and staple guns out of the reach of children.
