How to Reset an Antique Wedding Veil
An antique veil provides a dramatic finish to a traditional bridal ensemble. The majority of such veils sport either cathedral or chapel length -- the latter longer than the former. Both lengths nearly touch the ground and heighten the risk of a slip, which would completely dishevel the veil. Resetting the garment demands a gentle and meticulous touch. Remove the veil from the hair, gently and slowly. Freshen the bride's hair if necessary.

Position the veil in the "diagonal" style so that the corner of the veil's train will form a diagonal with the bride's head. Many antique veils were designed to be worn in such a way, so as to better see the intricate design.

Face the comb of the veil downward, and slide it in through the front center of the bride's coif, or just behind the crown of her head.

Insert up to five slim, white bobby pins into the veil to hold its comb in place.

Wear a tiara or blusher over an antique veil. Younger brides, or those with prominent updo hairstyles, should choose a tiara. A blusher, which is a single-layered, short veil, fully covers the face; it's best for more modest or reserved wives-to-be. Either option will keep the antique veil secure without harming its fabric.
