Walkera 60 Tail Upgrade Instructions

The Walkera 60 is a model helicopter with changeable parts. This means you can buy upgrade components for the tail. Installing the tail the first time is a complex and time-consuming process. Upgrading it, thankfully, is much easier. Most of the hard-to-assemble base components remain on the helicopter, making it easier to swap out the tail itself. The procedure varies slightly, depending on which new tail you have, but the basic process is the same.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect the small rubber belt from the gear in the original tailpiece. You can just pull it off but do so carefully. This will be easier with a small screwdriver or a pair of tweezers.

    • 2

Remove the old tail by unscrewing the two small hex nuts at the back with the 1.5 wrench included with all Walkera kits. It will then slide right off.

    • 3

Put together the new tail separately, according to the instructions that came with the tail. This varies by model since many are not specific to Walkera.

    • 4

Slide the new tailpiece onto the end of the helicopter.

    • 5

Connect the tail to the helicopter frame with the two hex nuts and the wrench to hold it in place.

    • 6

Slide the rubber belt over the new gear.
