How to Connect a Spy Camera to the JVC GrD750
The JVC GR-D750 is a Mini DV camcorder that records videos onto small tapes. If you have a small spy camera, you can feed the live video footage directly onto the JVC camcorder for recording to a Mini DV tape. The process is a simple set up, but you need to have the cameras set up close to each other or feed extra long cables to get the process working properly.

Check what kind of outputs your spy camera has. Typical outputs include RCA mini-plugs, Firewire or a direct RCA plugs. If you are unsure or cannot find it on your spy camera, check your manual or the manufacturer's website for a list of the outputs.

Purchase a Firewire mini-plug cable. This cable connects to the JVC GR-D750 camcorder. Get a Firewire to RCA or Firewire to RCA mini-plug cable depending on your spy camera's connection.

Insert the Firewire cable into the slot located on the inside panel of the JVC camcorder. Connect the other end to the "Output" of the spy camera.

Turn the JVC camera to the "Playback" mode. Turn on the spy camera. Wait a few moments and the video feed from the spy camera will load onto the LCD screen of the JVC camera.

Take JVC remote control that comes with the camcorder. Hold the "Record" button down. Press the "Play" button at the same time to start recording the live feed. This will record the feed directly to the inserted DV tape.

Press "Stop" on the remote to end the recording. The feed will still appear on the LCD screen until you turn the camera off. repeat this process any time you want to reconnect the camera.

Tips & Warnings
A direct Firewire to Firewire connection will provide the best feed and minimal issues when connecting to the JVC camcorder.
Close the LCD screen while recording to hide the brightness of the screen and keep the integrity of the spy camera alive.
