How to Disable a Language in Firefox With a Hotkey
Many Mozilla Firefox users access websites written in unfamiliar languages. In many cases, users copy and paste site addresses or text into an online translator to view the information in a different language. The Quick Translator Firefox add-on by Igor Gladkov allows Firefox users to translate more than 50 languages with a hotkey. Although the add-on doesn’t actually change the original Web page, it makes it seem like it has disabled the language and replaced it with the language needed. With this tool, you can use hotkeys to translate selected text, manually entered text and an entire page.

Tips & Warnings
To change the hotkeys, right-click the Quick Translator icon at the bottom-right corner of the Firefox screen and select “Preferences…” on the pop-up menu. Click a hotkey field in the Hotkeys section, enter a new single key or combination of keys for the hotkey, and then click “OK.”
If by “disable a language” you’re referring to a dictionary language, you want to disable a language so that a dictionary only looks up words using a specific language reference. Click “Tools,” “Add-ons” and “Extensions.” Locate the dictionary and review the developer’s notes to determine if a hotkey solution is available for the specific add-on product you’re using.
Quick Translator doesn’t always translate all of the text on a page.
