Find the activation code for Visual Studio after purchasing the product.

Visual Studio, a piece of programming software that uses the Visual Basic Source code to create games, forms, and applications, offers a free 90- to 180-day trial of their program to anyone who wants it. After the trial is over, you will need an activation code to continue using it. Some users may want to upgrade sooner, as any program made with the full version of the software can be sold for profit.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase the full version of Visual Studio from a retail store or online at www.microsoft.com.

    • 2

Find your activation code. If you purchased Visual Studio from a store, the code will be listed on a paper sleeve inside the DVD case. If you purchased it online, Microsoft will send you an email containing the code.

    • 3

Click the Start button on your computer, then select "Control Panel."

    • 4

Find and click "Add/Remove Programs," and then scroll down until you see Microsoft Visual Studio. Click the "Change/Remove" button on the right side of the window.

    • 5

Click "Upgrade" on the window that appears, and then click the "Next" button until you are given a prompt to enter the activation code. Type in the code from your email or DVD sleeve, and then click the "Next" button until a "Finish" button appears. Click the "Finish" button to complete the upgrade.
