The Windows programs that start automatically each time you boot are controlled using the Windows registry. To cause the ACP program to boot automatically, you add a registry value to the Windows registry, which tells the system to always start the program after a reboot. System administrators use this feature to ensure that important company software always starts on the user's computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Windows "Start" button and type "regedit" in the search text box. Press "Enter" to open the registry editor.

    • 2

Double-click the top-level "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" key in the left navigation panel. A list of sub-keys display. Double-click "Software," then "Microsoft," then "Windows," then "CurrentVersion," then "Run." In the details panel, a list of startup programs is shown.

Right-click the white space in the details panel and select "New," and then click "Key." In the "Name" text box, type "ACP." In the "Value" text box, type the folder and executable file name for the program. For example, "c:\acp\acp.exe" runs "acp.exe" each time Windows boots.
