How to Highlight Searches in MediaWiki
MediaWiki.org is an open-source PHP application that many websites, such as Wikipedia, Wikibooks and Wikinews, use as a foundation. Websites that use MediaWiki software can make certain changes to format how their website's content looks, such as highlighting search text or URLs. The effect will appear once the code has been added.

Scroll through the code to the search URL or text you want to highlight.

Type "<span style="background-color:COLOR;">Text</span>," replacing "COLOR" with an actual color, such as "Blue," and "Text" with the actual search URL or text.

Visit the page that contains the URL or search text via your Web browser to confirm that it is now highlighted with the color you specified.
