How to Use Amazon Cloud to Make Movies
Amazon Cloud is Amazon.com's powerful free cloud-storage service which allows any user with an Amazon.com account to upload and store files on the Cloud servers. You can use Amazon Cloud to upload, download and store virtually any kind of file format on its servers, as long as the file is within the storage limits of your account. For filmmakers, Amazon Cloud can be a useful collaboration and project-management tool that they can access from any Internet-connected computer.

Organize the multimedia files you intend to use in your movie using your Amazon Cloud folders. By default, your Amazon Cloud account includes folders called Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos, but you can create your own folders in which to store your multimedia. Click "Your Cloud Drive" in the left column, then click the "New Folder" button at the top of the middle column. Type the name of your new folder; then click "Save Folder." You can also organize your files by movie, if you're working on several projects. Create new folders with the names of each movie, then click your new folder. Click the "New Folder" button at the top of the middle column and create new subfolders for each movie.

Track changes in your movie. Upload the different versions of your film by giving each file a distinctive file name, then upload each version to your custom folders on Amazon Cloud. Click the "Upload Files" button in the upper left corner of the home page, then click "Your Cloud Drive" to call up a drop-down menu of all your storage folders. Click the folder to which you want to upload your new version, then click "Select." Click the large gold "Select Files to Upload" button and browse your hard drive for the version of your film. Double-click the file to upload it to the Amazon Cloud server.

Collaborate with others working on your film using Amazon Cloud as a repository for remote collaborations. You must give your collaborators access to your Amazon Cloud account, including the email address and password associated with your Amazon.com account. Your fellow filmmakers can then log in to your Amazon Cloud account and download files from you, as well as upload files for you to view and work on.

Tips & Warnings
As of the date of publication, Amazon Cloud limits each uploaded file to 2 GB. A free Amazon Cloud account includes 5 GB of storage space. Most film formats produce large file sizes, so you may want to purchase more storage space from Amazon.com for your film projects.
If you don't want to allow others to access to your personal Amazon.com account, but do want to use Amazon Cloud as a collaboration tool, start a separate account specifically for using Amazon Cloud with your movie's collaboration team.
Only use your Amazon Cloud account for your own personal use. Do not widely distribute your username and password to allow viewers to download your finished movie. While Amazon.com's terms of service for Amazon Cloud acknowledge that you may allow other people to access your account, the TOS strictly forbid any type of widespread file-sharing, such as using Amazon Cloud as a server to distribute your film to online audiences.
