DIY LED Gauges for a Civic
Replacing the LED gauge bulbs in a Honda Civic is a relatively easy process that can be completed at home. You may want to replace a defective bulb or substitute the yellow-tinted factory illumination bulbs for a better-quality or alternately colored bulb. A t1.5 LED, recommended for 1992 to 1995 Honda Civics, are available in white, blue, green, red, or amber wide-angle bulbs. For newer Honda Civics, a B8.5D-x LED bulb is suggested, which is slightly brighter than the t1.5 and distributes light over a wider surface area.

2
Squeeze the release buttons on the connector cable plug, and gently pull the cable to disassemble it from the flasher switch. Remove the screw on the inside of the switch mounting hole.

3
Work the sides of the air-conditioning vent out using a screwdriver. Work the dash trim away from the dash lip with a screwdriver.

Remove four screws in the dash trim, near the fuel and temperature gauges on the right and the tachometer on the left. Tilt the gauge cluster assembly slightly out of the dash. Use a screwdriver to hold the release buttons down of the two gray cable plugs at the left and right lower corners of the cluster assembly. Apply upward pressure with the screwdriver to remove the plugs from the assembly.

Take the gauge cluster assembly out of the dash, and turn it upside down for easier handling. Twist each of the six brown bulb holders counterclockwise to remove the existing LED bulbs one by one. Insert the replacement bulbs into the brown bulb holders, twisting clockwise to secure them in place.
