How to Make a 1 7/8 Pipe Template

Computer aided design -- or CAD -- software enables professionals to fabricate designs and templates that can be incorporated into real-world projects. Architects and engineers can test the durability of their CAD designs on their computers, before taking their work onto the next stage of development. And if you're a plumbing engineer and need to create a template for a 1 7/8 pipe, you can use free CAD software to generate it.

Instructions

  1. AnyCAD

    • 1

Download a free copy of AnyCAD to create your pipe template. Extract the program to an empty folder, and then launch it. Click "OK" when the "New Project" dialog box appears.

    • 2

Click on the "Cylinder" option in the program's toolbar. Drag your cursor across the canvas to create the base cylinder. Select the "Model" option from the "Property view" menu box.

    • 3

Double-click inside of the "Height" field beneath the "Property View" menu box, and then type in the desired height or length for your pipe. Double-click inside the "Radius" field, and then type "0.9375."

    • 4

Select the "Save" option from the program's toolbar to save your template.

    Harder Woods
