Check the power source if the “Power” light on the spa's main control panel is not on and the spa will not operate. Flip the appropriate breaker in your home’s main control panel to the “On” position if it has tripped. Flip the two ground fault circuit interrupters, or GFCIs, to the “On” position if they have tripped. You will find the GFCIs in the spa’s subpanel; their location will vary by installation. If power problems persist, call a qualified repair technician.

Flip the appropriate breaker in your home’s main control panel to the “Off” position if the “Power” light on the spa's main control panel blinks and the spa will not operate. The heater high-limit thermostat may have tripped. Wait 30 seconds. Flip the breaker to the “On” position. Clean clogged filters if the issue continues. Clean clogged filters and push the red thermal cutoff button on top of the heater inside the equipment compartment if your spa does not heat but jets and lights operate; the “Ready” light on the spa's main control panel also will not be on. Flip the appropriate breaker in your home’s main control panel to the “Off” position and allow the circulation pump, also inside the equipment compartment, to cool if the problem persists. Flip the breaker to the “On” position. Call a qualified repair technician if the spa will not heat or if the heater or circulation pump thermal cutoffs trip frequently.

Clean clogged filters and confirm that the Comfort Control valves are fully open if the Moto-Massage jet does not operate or operates erratically. Call a qualified repair technician if the jet continues to malfunction.

Flip the appropriate breaker in your home’s main control panel to the “Off” position if the “Ready” indicator light blinks. Your temperature sensor may be malfunctioning. Wait 30 seconds. Flip the breaker to the “On” position. Call for a qualified repair technician if the light continues to blink.

Tips & Warnings
Multiple troubleshooting tasks require you to clean the spa's filter. If you are a new owner of a used HotSpring Classic spa and are unfamiliar with this monthly maintenance task, start by flipping the appropriate breaker in your home’s main control panel to the “Off” position. Remove the filter compartment cover and set it aside. Clear any floating items from the filter compartment. Turn the filter retainer handle on top of the filter cartridge counterclockwise until you can remove the retainer from the filter retainer and cartridge from the standpipe. Soak the filter cartridge in a filter degreaser, according to product directions. Rinse the filter cartridge with a garden hose and replace.
In steps 2, 3 and 5, you also can turn power to the spa on and off by resetting the GFCIs in the spa’s subpanel.
