Adjust your Oakley watchband for the perfect fit.

Oakley's Crankcase watch is a rugged timepiece with a modern, sporty design. Unlike most other high fashion wristwatches, the Crankcase model is waterproof down to 330 feet. The watch features a classic metal link wristband, which can be cleaned and maintained more readily than a leather band. If your Crankcase watch is beginning to feel a bit loose around your wrist, you can remove a few links using several basic watch repair tools. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Position your watch upright on the watch staking stand. On the stand, there will be a groove for the band of your wristwatch to fit snugly into. Ensure that the connecting pins on the side of the wristband are facing up.

    • 2

Locate a connecting pin near the bottom of the wristband. Push the tip of the eyeleteer down onto the head of the pin and apply firm downward pressure to loosen the pin.

    • 3

Tap the head of the pin gently with a rubber mallet to remove it from the wristband. Grasp the opposite end of the pin with a pair of needle-nose pliers and extract it completely from the wristband.

    • 4

Remove the loosened link from the wristband. If you wish to remove more links and thus further shorten the length of your wristband, perform the above steps for each additional link.

Tips & Warnings

  • Work in a clean, brightly lit area as you will be dealing with very small parts and pieces.

  • If you are uncertain about your ability to successfully remove the links, bring your watch to a professional repair service.

  • Removing links from your Oakley wristband may void the manufacturer's warranty.
