How to Do a Main Post on Tumblr
The Tumblr blogging platform allows users to create, capture and publish various types of blog entries including text, photo and media posts. You can publish a main post on Tumblr through your user dashboard. You can access your Tumblr dashboard once you log into your user account. Once you publish an entry, the post will be visible on your main Tumblr page.

Sign in to your Tumblr account. Your Dashboard loads.

Select the type of post you want publish from the option icons at the top of the page. Options include, "Text," "Photo," "Quote," "Link," "Chat," "Audio" and "Video." A new page loads.

Enter the text, picture or other media you wish to post into the applicable fields of the page. For example, if you chose to publish a text post, enter a title for the post in the "Title" field of the page. Then type the body of the post in the "Body" field of the page.

Click the "Create Post" button when you are ready to publish the post.
