Screen Tutorials for Python
If you are interested in learning the Python programming language but cannot schedule time to learn in a classroom, you can use tutorials on your computer screen. Python enables programmers to write code for a variety of applications, including email, graphics, robotics, databases and games. Use a tutorial to learn Python at your own pace and when it is convenient for you. You can use basic tutorials to familiarize yourself with Python, and then continue to learn advanced programming tasks.

Navigate to the Loyola University website’s Hands-On Python – A Tutorial Introduction for Beginners page if you know nothing about Python and want to start learning how to program. Click the “Beginning with Python” link at the top of the page. Follow the tutorial on your computer to learn about working with data, how to define functions, and how to use Python to process text and images. Each section of the tutorial provides programming examples and has a summary to help you process what you’ve studied.

Go to the Objectis website’s Python Tutorials page to see a variety of on-screen tutorials to help you learn how to program in Python. Look at the list of video tutorials, which range from beginning lessons to advanced work with databases and 3D representations for physics. Click a video link to start playing the Python tutorial on your computer screen. Below the list of video tutorials is a list of text-based tutorials using text. Browse through the categories to learn specific aspects of Python programming, such as working with cryptography, neural networks and databases.

Visit the Python Software Foundation website’s Python Tutorial page. Download the latest version of the Python interpreter from the foundation’s site, then start using the tutorial to get started with programming. Click the “Glossary” link at the top of the tutorial page to familiarize yourself with various terms used in Python programming. Click the “Whetting Your Appetite” link to get an overview of what you’ll learn to do with Python. The tutorial teaches you how to use Python to perform calculations, work with lists, then progress to more complicated tasks.
