Instructions

    • 1

Remove any loose thread hanging from the ripped part of your jeans. Use scissors to cut the thread.

    • 2

Cut out a square piece of denim fabric that's large enough to cover the hole in your jeans. Make the borders of the patch at least 1 inch wider than the hole. Place the patch on a table with the front part facing down.

    • 3

Apply fabric-bonding glue to the 1-inch borders of the denim patch. Distribute the glue with a cotton swab. Avoid getting glue on the part that covers the hole, because you may end up gluing the patch through the hole, onto the back of the jeans.

Position the patch over the hole and add pressure to glue it onto the jeans. Allow the glue to dry overnight before washing or wearing the jeans.

Tips & Warnings

  • Instead of a square or round patch, make a heart or star-shaped patch.

  • Use denim patches that are lighter or darker than your own jeans to create a trendy contrast.

  • Stitch along the edges of the patch for extra reinforcement.

  • Instead of purchasing denim fabric, cut patches out of an old pair of jeans.
