How to Install a Bidet Handheld Toilet Spraywash

Bidets are a sanitary way to freshen-up after using the bathroom, but not always a feasible choice. The cost and room required to fit a bidet isn’t always possible for smaller bathroom and budgets. Another option is a handheld bidet sprayer, which offers you the hygienic benefits of a full-sized bidet without the installation costs and consumed space. Install the handheld unit correctly to prevent a watery mess without the need for special tools or equipment. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the water stop valve, which is located on the wall directly behind the toilet. Turn the valve counterclockwise to stop the flow of water. Flush the toilet to remove the existing water, just in case.

    • 2

Loosen the water fitting on the toilet’s flusher threads, which are found on the bottom of the tank or bowl, before removing it completely. Leave the fitting secured to the water stop valve in place.

    • 3

Locate the unit’s “T” connector. Some brands have a connector that also attaches to the area beneath the seat, which requires removal of the toilet seat itself.

    • 4

Screw the “T” connector into the flusher threads with your hand only. Don’t over-tighten the connector to prevent stripping flusher threads.

    • 5

Screw the water line fitting into the bottom male end of the “T” connector with your hand. Install the bidet hose into the top male end of the “T” connector. Some models require you to screw the bidet hose, while others allow you to push it into place.

    • 6

Turn the water top valve clockwise and use the toilet and handheld bidet sprayer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the handheld bidet to soothe hemorrhoids or a sore bottom from childbirth or other medical procedures.
