How to Add Sirius Satellite to Kenwood KDC-MP2035 CD Receivers
You can add Sirius Satellite radio to a vehicle that has a Kenwood KDC-MP2035 compact disc player already installed using the XM Snap model that plugs directly into the cigarette lighter socket. Once installed, the unit connects to the auxiliary input jack on the front of the KDC-MP2035. The XM Snap comes with an external antenna with a magnetic mount, the cable necessary to make the connection, and an alcohol pad to clean the area where you mount the antenna.

Use the alcohol pad to clean an area three inches square on the roof of the vehicle at the center close to the windshield. Place the antenna mount in the cleaned area, then route the cable into the vehicle. Lift the rubber windshield molding and weather stripping on the door to hide the cable underneath.

Plug the XM Snap into the cigarette lighter socket and connect the antenna cable to it. Connect the provided cable from the XM Snap "Audio" to the KDC-MP2035 auxiliary input jack.

Move the vehicle to an area with a clear view of the sky and press the "On" button on the Sirius. Press buttons "1," "2" and "3" when prompted on the display. The display will show "Courtesy Period Begun" and tune to channel 1.

Turn on the Kenwood press the "SRC" button until "AUX" appears on the display.

Avoid installing the antenna close to other antennas or under a luggage rack.
If "Acquiring Signal" appears on the display, the antenna isn't receiving a satellite signal. Move the vehicle to a location with a clear view of the sky. Also check the antenna connection.
