How to Soften a Josco Shoe

Josco shoes are a brand of Indian footwear known for their quality and durability. Softening a new pair of Josco shoes is necessary to ensure they feel comfortable. Tough shoes will hurt and not conform correctly to the contours of your feet. Sometimes even an old pair of shoes will harden up on you. The traditional way to soften shoes is just to wear them a lot; however, there are several alternative methods to speed up the softening process.

Instructions

    • 1

Wear your Josco shoes each day for a short period of time, such as 30 minutes. It doesn't matter if you wear them indoors or outdoors. The shoes will slowly soften and break in for you over the period of several days. Don't wear the shoes for extended periods of time early on or you might get blisters and pain in your feet.

Walk up and down stairs as often as possible in your Josco shoes. The uneven surface causes the shoes to bend and flex, helping soften and break them in.

Perform a discoloration test by wetting a small area of the shoe. If the colors stay, dampen your shoes by stepping into the shower or a bucket of water and then wiping them off with a cloth. Alternatively, spray tight areas of the shoes with a spray bottle. Leather moisturizer is preferable to water for leather shoes. Wear the damp shoes until they dry. The shoes will soften from the water and adopt the shape of your feet during the drying process.

Wear thick socks with leather Josco shoes and stuff them with old newspaper once you take them off. The socks and newspaper will stretch and eventually soften the shoes over a period of days. Repeatedly polishing them with a neutral wax polish will also help soften tough leather.
