How to Do a Video Chat With Yahoo From Gmail

With instant messaging through Gmail, you can chat back and forth with anyone on your contact list whenever they're available. But with Google Voice and Video Chat, you can actually see and hear the person you chat with, making the conversation more personal. Google Voice and Video Chat works through your Gchat list, which is embedded in your Gmail account. You can video conference with anyone on your chat list, including Yahoo users.

Tips & Warnings

  • When video chatting, speak in your regular tone and look into the webcam. This will ensure the other person can hear and see you.

  • Click the check box next to "Enable echo cancellation" under your chat settings. This setting will reduce some of the echo caused by your computer's microphone.
