How to Export NACA Points in XFoil
XFoil is a shareware program that is used to create models of airflow over two-dimensional and 3D airfoils and airplane wings. NACA points are airfoil coordinates or specific locations on an airfoil. These locations are placed in a grid and are utilized by the program to alter the airflow on the diagram. Export the NACA points in XFoil to a text editor so that you can create your own grid or save them in another type of file.

-
2
Click on the "Foil" menu then select "NACA Foils." Select "0012" for the airfoil then select "100" for the number of panels. "NACA 0012" will show on the screen. Click on the listing located at the bottom of the page to highlight it.

Click on "Polars," select "View" then "Choose." Located on the right-hand side of the screen is a column labeled "Analysis." Enter your NACA points data. Type in the desired "Starting Sequence" number, the "Continuing Sequence" number and the "Step of Degree." For example, the starting sequence number could be -4, the continuing sequence number 20 and the step of degree 1.
-
5
Select "Polars" then click on "View." Select "Cl v. alpha" and enter the desired data point.
-
6
Click on "Graph" then select "Variables." Enter the desired variables to change the graph.
