How to Get Wrinkles Out of a Dress Without Washing It
A wrinkled dress can ruin an otherwise polished look. Sometimes wrinkles appear just as you're walking out the door, or when you're traveling and can't wash the dress. Other times, they form on a dress that can't be ironed or must be dry cleaned. Although the most effective wrinkle removal technique is ironing, this can be difficult if you're short on time. Fortunately, there are several other effective methods.

1
Use a wrinkle remover spray to release slight wrinkles and creases. Many fabric care companies manufacture these products, which are readily available at drug stores and supermarkets. Simply spray the product onto the affected area, wait 3 to 5 minutes and then smooth out the wrinkles with your hands.

2
Shake the dress out and put it on a hanger. Ensure that it is hanging evenly and that the hem is not creased upward. Then turn on the shower and close the bathroom door for 5 to 10 minutes. The steam will release most wrinkles.

3
Place the dress in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet. Fabric softener makes the fabric more pliable, allowing the drier to gently release the wrinkles.

4
Use a steam wrinkle releaser. These tools are especially useful for people who travel frequently and don't have time to iron their clothes. Simply run the steamer over the affected area, and watch the wrinkles disappear. Many specialty stores sell inexpensive portable steamers designed for travel and emergencies.

Tips & Warnings
Check the care instructions on the tag inside your dress. Some dresses should not be placed in the drier and some fabrics -- such as silk -- should not be moistened with spray wrinkle releasers.
