Delete the Facebook icon from your BlackBerry screen.

The Facebook app for BlackBerry delivers notifications of your latest friend requests, invitations, pokes and messages directly to your phone. When you receive a notification, a Facebook symbol appears at the top of the BlackBerry screen. To delete the symbol, you must check your unread notifications. After you've read or deleted the notifications, the Facebook icon will no longer appear at the top of the screen. Depending on the age of your BlackBerry and its operating system, you have two options for deleting the Facebook icon from the screen.

Instructions

  1. Method One

    • 1

      Power on your BlackBerry.

    • 2

Highlight and click the “Facebook” icon using the BlackBerry's trackpad.

    • 3

Click each pending notification. Alternatively, highlight a notification with the trackpad, press the "Menu" key and choose "Delete." Click "Yes" when prompted.

    • 4

Navigate back to your home screen. If you have read or deleted every notification, the Facebook symbol should be gone.

    Method Two

    • 5

      Power on your BlackBerry.

    • 6

Highlight and click on the "Facebook" application (not the notification icon) using your BlackBerry's trackpad. If the Facebook app is not on your home screen, tap the "Menu" button and navigate to the folder containing the app.

    • 7

Click "Facebook" in the top left corner of the Facebook app. Click "Notifications" in the menu that opens.

    • 8

Click on a notification to read it. Alternatively, click "Menu" and choose "Delete" or "Mark as Read." Click "Yes" when prompted to confirm.

    • 9

Check your BlackBerry's home screen. The Facebook notification icon has been deleted.
