Use miniature lilies in corsages and large ones in bouquets.

The calla lily is famed for its elegance and beauty. Its tall, straight silhouette complements classic, minimalist and romantic decor, and blossoms are available in white, yellow, purple, pink and orange. Use full-size lilies for table centerpieces and bouquets and match them with miniature lilies in your corsages. Keep the aesthetic simple and elegant with white flowers and ribbons, or add a splash of color with brighter blossoms. Whatever you choose, calla lilies can lend an effortless sophistication to your event.

Instructions

    • 1

Arrange an odd number of miniature calla lilies in a cluster. Wrap their stems together with floral tape, beginning beneath the blossoms and continuing down to the bottom of the stems.

    • 2

Insert sprigs of small flowers or other filler around the lilies. Baby's breath, Queen Anne’s lace and leather leaf are traditional corsage fillers. For an Art Deco or vintage-style event, try adding feathers or sticks of seed pearls.

    • 3

Secure the filler around the lilies with more floral tape. Trim the corsage to the desired length with scissors.

    • 4

Decorate the corsage. Tie a bow in satin ribbon beneath the blossoms and wrap the stems with the bow's tails or frame the flowers with a lace cuff folded down over the stems. For a more modern look, wrap the stems with long, flexible ginger leaves.

    • 5

Insert a corsage pin into the back of the stem to pin the corsage to the wearer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Store fresh flowers in the refrigerator until you are ready to display them.
