Good Ideas on Where to Put Your Earrings & Necklaces
Jewelry, whether it is Cartier or costume, is an investment in glamor that must be protected. However, velvet-lined jewelry boxes aren’t always enough to keep your earrings protected or necklaces untangled. Expensive armoires are a possible solution, but don’t always fit into every woman’s jewelry budget. Instead of meticulously building infinite boxes for every pair of earrings, necklaces and chokers, use inexpensive household items to keep your jewelry safe. Does this Spark an idea?

Cardboard Earring Frame
-
1
Find a large, unwanted picture frame. Remove the glass and backing, but keep the frame. Cut out a piece of cardboard that is large enough to fit inside the frame.
-
2
Color either side of the cardboard with a broad-tipped marker. Avoid using paint because it will peel and chip over time. Allow the marker to dry for at least 30 minutes before continuing.
-
-
3
Attach the colored side of the cardboard piece to the back of the frame with hot glue. Run a line of hot glue around the edge of the cardboard, center it on the frame and hold the pieces together for 30 seconds. Allow the glue to set for at least one hour.
-
4
Poke holes in sets of two through the cardboard with a sewing needle. Leave enough room between the holes sets to accommodate the earring’s size. Remove the earring’s back and gently insert the posts through the holes. Replace the backs to keep the earrings in place.
-
5
Prop the picture frame against the wall and use it to keep your earrings safe and organized.
Necklace Tree
-
6
Find five to six tree branches outdoors. Choose branches with several twigs that are long enough to accommodate the necklaces. Inspect the branches for insects before bringing them indoors.
-
7
Wipe down the branches with a damp cloth to remove any excess dirt or debris. Allow the branches to dry completely before continuing.
-
8
Cover the branches with a light coating of aerosol clear acrylic sealer. Shake the aerosol can for 30 seconds and hold it approximately 10 inches away from the branch. Spray the entire branch’s surface with the sealant and allow them to cure for at least one hour.
-
9
Arrange the tree branches in a vase or large bowl and hang necklaces, baubles, bracelets and chokers.
