Set a clean cylindrical vase on your counter top. Place your orchids up against the vase and trim the stems if the flowers are too long.
Orchids have an exotic appeal and can be any color from pink, ruby red, creamy white, to purple. Some blooms also feature stripes or speckles in contrasting colors. Showcase these flowers by arranging them in cylindrical vases that allow you to see the soft petals and deep green foliage through all sides of the vase. Create cylindrical orchid centerpieces for weddings, birthdays or any other special event.
Fill the bottom of the vase with clear pebbles or small rocks. Set your orchid flowers in the vase so the bottom of the stems fit snugly between the pebbles. Include one main type of orchid or feature three or more different varieties in one vase.
Fill the vase up to the top with clean, filtered water. Tap water works also as long as there isn't a lot of chlorine in the water. The orchids should stay firmly under the water in the vase. Place additional flower petals or floating candles on the top of the water.
