How to Clean a Marmot Jacket

Washing your Marmot jacket requires a special detergent for the Gore-Tex material that is recommended by the manufacturer to ensure its life and quality and can be found where these jackets are sold and in most sporting goods and outdoors stores. Put the jacket in the washing machine on a regular warm-water wash cycle.

Add in Granger's down wash plus into the water while it is filling. Avoid using commercial and store-bought laundry detergents, softeners or bleach as they can harm the fabric.

Repeat the rinse cycle after the first one has completed to ensure all of the washing liquid is completely out of the jacket.

Put the jacket in the dryer on low heat with two tennis balls and remove immediately once the jacket has finished drying completely. The drying cycle for down jackets usually takes two to three hours and the jackets must be completely dry before wearing to ensure complete fullness and functionality.

Use any name brand pre-wash stain remover stick on heavily stained and soiled fabrics before washing.
Avoid dry cleaning your jacket; only wash at home.
