How to Get Bluetooth on M11x thumbnail
Bluetooth lets you connect devices to your M11x without wires.

Bluetooth enables you to wirelessly connect your Alienware M11x gaming laptop computer to external devices. With Bluetooth-enabled devices, you can pair them with the laptop and not worry about cords getting in the way. Before this works, you'll need to enable Bluetooth on your laptop. Simply enabling it on your computer isn't enough to actually use the Bluetooth device. Once enabled on your M11x, you can pair the device with your computer using Windows.

Instructions

  1. Enabling Bluetooth

    • 1

Turn on or restart your laptop and press the "F2" key as the laptop boots to enter the BIOS Setup Utility. If your computer displays the Windows logo before entering this menu, restart and try again, you waited too long to press "F2."

    • 2

Navigate to the "Advanced" menu tab using the keys designated at the bottom of the BIOS screen. If "Enabled" displays under the "Bluetooth Receiver" option, press the designated button to save and exit the BIOS utility. If it reads "Disabled," navigate to "Bluetooth Receiver" and press the designated button for enabling it, then save and exit.

    • 3

Wait until Windows loads completely, then press "Fn" and "F3" at the same time. This enables the M11x's wireless radios, including Bluetooth.

    Pairing Devices

    • 4

Turn on the device you want to pair with the M11x. Set the device to "Discovery Mode," or a similarly named option, which may differ by device. Check the documentation that came with the Bluetooth device for specific instructions on making it discoverable.

    • 5

Click the Windows Start orb and select the "Control Panel" option. Navigate to "Hardware and Sound."

    • 6

Select "Bluetooth Devices" and click "Add." Follow Windows' onscreen instructions to finish pairing the device with the M11x.
