How to Add Lights to Round Homemade Paper Lanterns
Paper lanterns add a touch of whimsy to home or party decor. Alone, paper lanterns are attractive, but when illuminated they make an eye-catching statement. If you've made your own paper lanterns, adding lights to them is a fairly simple task that is sure to yield dramatic results. Things You'll Need
- Hanging LED battery terminal for lanterns
- Strand of battery-operated LED lights
- LED battery-operated tea light

Light the paper lantern with a hanging LED battery terminal made for lanterns. These battery packs have a small LED light at the base that will illuminate the lantern. Insert the battery pack into the opening at the top of the lantern and switch the battery pack on.

Place a strand of lights inside the lantern. Select a battery-operated strand of 10 to 12 lights in a color that suits your taste. Turn the lights on, and feed them into the lantern through the hole on top of the decoration.

Set an LED battery-operated tea light inside the lantern. Switch on the battery-operated tea light, and set it inside the lantern through the opening on the top. Position the candle so that the "flame" is pointing up.
