    Click Who's Chatting.

  5. Step 5

    Highlight a name.

    Click Send Instant Message.

Tips & Warnings
  • Non-AOL users can search for Instant Messenger users with common interests by choosing Find Buddy from the People menu. Once you have someone's name, you can invite him or her to chat if you want. (Choose Send Buddy Chat Invitation from the People menu.)
  • Be careful not give out your real name or address to strangers you meet in a chat room.
