How to Get the Water to Flow Faster From the Sink
Water flow is a common problem, especially in older houses. Low pressure makes it more difficult to do simple household chores like washing dishes. While there are limitations on how much water pressure you can get from a faucet, increasing the pressure for faster water flow is possible. It involves some mild tweaking of your current setup and discipline in your water usage but the results are noticeable immediately. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Check the water valve under the sink where the faucet is installed. Open the valve all the way if it isn't already to increase the supply of water the faucet receives at one time.
-
2
Twist the aerator off the end of the faucet and drop the pieces into a glass of white vinegar to clean them off. The faucet clogs over time if it is not regularly cleaned, and the acidity of the vinegar helps remove that sludge.

3
Turn off other devices that use water when you need the faucet to have more pressure. Washing machines, dishwashers, toilets and showers all take up pressure, and the house only has so much water pressure available at a given time. Reducing the water usage at any given time therefore increases the water pressure to faucets still in use.

4
Place a higher-pressure head on the end of the faucet fixture. It screws on and increases the pressure of the water by reducing the space that it comes out of.

Tips & Warnings
Pour vinegar down the sink drain to help increase the flow of water as it goes down the drain. The vinegar helps clean the drain and eliminate clogs in the pipes.
