How to Know Your Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck Strength
Yu-Gi-Oh is a card game -- also turned video game -- in which you battle opponents in card duels to come out victorious and move up in levels. The type of cards that you possess as a player determines how strong or weak your overall deck is. A stronger deck gives you more advantage over your opponents so that you may beat them in the duels and gain more points. By understanding the category of cards, such as monster cards, magic spell cards and trap cards, you can determine whether or not your deck is strong.

1
Count the number of cards in your deck. A strong deck has approximately 40 cards in it. A deck with fewer cards may not allow you to adequately beat your opponents in duels because you have less battling options. A deck with more cards than 40 could be stronger if the cards are well balanced.

Review the types of cards that you have. Make separate piles of the three categories of cards: monsters, magic spells and traps. Count the number of cards you have in each pile. A strong and balanced Yu-Gi-Oh deck consists of more monsters and an equal balance of magic spell cards and trap cards.

Check your cards against the banned cards list that the creators of Yu-Gi-Oh publish. As more cards and decks are released in the game, some other cards become banned and will not serve you any purpose to have them in your deck. If your deck contains cards that have been banned, it will weaken your deck.

Tips & Warnings
Your deck of cards does not have to be completely balanced in order for you to beat opponents in duels. What's more important is that you know how to strategize the use of each card that you have and understand how to use the card properly to gain points.
