How to Move From an Album on Zen Stone

How to Move From an Album on Zen Stone thumbnail
The Zen Stone connects to your computer over USB.

The Creative Zen Stone media player doesn’t include a screen and can’t understand the tags associated with music files. Switching to a new music album isn’t as intuitive as it is on a device with a screen. To compensate for this, the Zen Stone includes a Skip Folder action. You can take advantage of the this action by placing each album in a separate folder on your device. After doing so, you can use the Skip Folder action to move between albums.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the Zen Stone to your computer with the included USB cable, open the Computer window from the Start menu and double-click the “Zen Stone” device.

    • 2

Arrange your music albums in separate folders on your Zen Stone. Create folders by right-clicking in the window, pointing to “New” and clicking “Folder.” Select music files with your mouse and use the “Cut” and “Paste” options in the right-click menu to move them between folders.

    • 3

Disconnect the Zen Stone from your computer, and power it on.

    • 4

Push the “Mode Switch” on the bottom of the Zen Stone toward the folder icon and release it. The Zen Stone skips to the next album folder and starts playing it.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Zen Stone plays music files and folders in alphanumeric order. Files and folders with file names starting with “1” are played before files starting with “A”. You can control the order the Zen Stone plays albums in by adding numbers before each folder’s file name. For example, add an “01” before the folder you want to play first and a “10” before the folder you want to play tenth.

  • You can place folders within other folders up to three-folders deep. Place all music albums inside the Zen Stone’s main directory if you want them played in alphanumeric order.
