How to Convert All Anchor Points

Adobe Illustrator is a graphics-editing application from Adobe Systems that uses vectors when creating shapes. Those vectors are defined by anchor points, which are the points at which lines change direction. Anchor points can either be smooth and create a curve or they can be corner points, creating angles instead. You can convert all anchor points in a shape to either smooth or corner points by selecting the anchor points and using a specific tool to perform the conversion.

Instructions

    • 1

Load Adobe Illustrator and open the file that contains the picture you wish to edit.

    • 2

Click on the shape that contains the anchor points you wish to edit.

    • 3

Press and hold the "Ctrl" key down on your keyboard and select all the anchor points along the edges of the shape by clicking on them. Release the "Ctrl" key when you have selected all the anchor points.

    • 4

Select the "Convert Selected Anchor Points To Smooth" option from the Control Panel if you wish to turn angles into curves. The Control Panel is under the program's main menu. If you want to convert curves into angles, select "Convert Selected Anchor Points To Corner."
