How to Export a Video From Cycorder

Cycorder is not compatible with the iPhone 3GS or above.

Cycorder is a third-party app that enables video recording on jailbroken devices. The videos are saved to a specific folder on the drive and can be watched using the built-in video app. To transfer or export the video to a computer, you will need some way to browse the system files. The Cycorder app is only useful for the original iPhone or iPhone 3G, as newer models already have this capability.

Instructions

1. Install a file browser on your computer and connect the device using a USB cable. The iPhone's contents are displayed in the side window pane and can be opened just like regular folders. Click "Var" to expand it, and continue opening folders until you find the Cycorder files. Right-click it, click "Copy" and then paste it to your computer. Some file browsers include DiskAid and IPhoneBrowser.

2. Locate the Video using MobileFinder and email it to yourself. This method is only limited by the size of the file and your firmware. The app is compatible with firmware up to version 3 and allows you see the Cycorder folder on the device. After you record a video, tap "Finder" and then the squiggly icon in the upper right corner. Find Cycorder, select the video and tap "Send."

3. Browse the iPhone directly using iFile. IFile is downloadable through Cydia and lets you copy, paste, email and send files through bluetooth. It also allows direct uploading to iFiles Web server. Included is a media player and support for opening various file types, including PDFs and ZIP files. Once you browse to the Cycorder folder, tap "Edit" and tap the radio button beside the video. Tap the "Envelope" to email or tap the "Bluetooth" icon to send to another iDevice.

Tips & Warnings

• Cycorder's videos are located in the following folder: Var/Mobile/Media/Videos.

• The videos can be played with Quicktime or an alternate media player capable of playing .mov files, such as VLC.

• Jailbreaking your device can void your warranty.
