Green Spider Mums & Moss Arrangements
Green spider mums signify happiness in the U.S. and are often beautiful in a simple floral arrangement. You might think that a mixture of green spider mums and moss gives you only one color option -- green. But you can actually work a variety of moss colors into the arrangement. Besides choosing the color and type of moss you want to use, you’ll want to consider which piece of fauna will be the focal piece. Moss can be an excellent filler plant or you can make a larger arrangement using only a few spider mums as statement flowers.

1
Choose your arrangement container first. You might choose to use a vase for a simple bouquet of moss and spider mums or select a long trench container for a nature-like centerpiece.
-
2
Start with the moss as it provides a solid base for the rest of the flower arrangement. If your focus is on the spider mums, start with a few pieces of moss and add more as needed. With a moss-centric arrangement, create a bed of moss in the container first.

3
Add spider mums slowly to get the look you want in your arrangement. Because mums are a large flower, they can quickly overpower an arrangement. Add a few at a time and review your work to keep the arrangement looking perfect.
-
4
Include any other filler flowers, grass or branches that you desire. A few taller branches can add depth and variety to an arrangement, or you could include spots of color with other flowers.
-
5
Touch up the arrangement by tucking in extra moss around the base of the other flowers and making any adjustments necessary before displaying.

Tips & Warnings
Experiment with different moss colors in your arrangement. Moss with hints of yellow adds brightness to a spring bouquet while tinges of red are perfect for the fall.
