How to Make a Big Pot of Oatmeal for Breakfast
Oatmeal is a healthy alternative to boxed cold cereals. It contains fibers that help lower cholesterol, strengthen your immune system, stabilize your blood sugar and even prevent breast cancer. This food also contains magnesium, which reduces the chance of developing type-2 diabetes. With this in mind, you may want to include oatmeal as part of your daily breakfast. Although prepackaged oatmeal contains directions on the container, you can save money by buying oatmeal in bulk. Things You'll Need
- Cooking pot, 4 quarts
- Measuring cup
- Cooking oats, 3 cups
- Water, 11 cups
- Salt, 3 teaspoons
- Stove
- Brown sugar, 1/2 cup
- Raisins, 1 cup

Turn on your stove to medium heat.

Pour the water into the pot.

Place the pot of water onto the stove and wait for it to boil.

Pour the oats and raisins into the pot, stirring them at the same time.

Continue stirring for ten minutes or until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.

Turn off the stove.

Remove the pot from the heat source.

Pour the brown sugar into the pot and stir it until it is fully combined with the oatmeal.

Allow the oatmeal to thicken for 10 to 15 minutes. You now have a big pot of oatmeal, which can provide six large servings.
