How to Fix a Flirty Ponytail

No longer reserved for bad hair days, ponytails can be glamorous, sleek and sophisticated. Flirty ponytails, whether worn during the day or night, add a carefree, yet stylish attitude to your outfit. Although flirty ponytails are often worn high on your head, with the touch of a curling iron, you can give low ponytails a sexy flair as well.

Things You'll Need

• Shampoo
• Conditioner
• Mousse
• Styling gel
• Hair dryer
• Elastic band
• Barrette
• Bobby pins

Instructions

1. Wash and condition your hair as normal. Styled ponytails tend to look better with clean hair. Apply mousse or a styling gel to your wet hair, for volume, and then dry with a hair dryer.

2. Plug your curling iron in and allow it to warm up. Wrap 1-to-2-inch sections of hair at a time around the curling iron for soft waves and sexy loose curls.

3. Tease the hair on the crown of your head. Smooth it out with your hands after it is teased.

4. Gather all of your hair in your hands and secure it on the top back of your head for a high ponytail or closer to the nape of your neck for a smaller ponytail.

5. Secure the loose strands of hair, which are too short to fit into the ponytail, with a barrette or bobby pin. Alternatively, you may leave them loose, which can add to the flirty ambiance that you have created.
