1
Cut along the inside line on the paper template that came with your Kohler Memoirs sink with a pair scissors.
-
2
Place the template onto the vanity top or counter top where the sink will be installed. Center the template onto the surface. Secure the edges of the template to the surface with masking tape. Trace around the cut line of the template and onto the surface with a felt-tipped pen. Remove the template and the masking tape.

Place a three-eighths-inch drill bit into a power drill. Drill a pilot hole through the vanity top or counter top inside the line drawn earlier. Note that this hole will act as a starting point for the jigsaw bit, so drilling the hole as close to the inside of the line as possible will mean less cutting.
-
4
Insert the blade of a jigsaw through the pilot hole. Start the saw and cut on the line drawn earlier. Turn the saw off and remove the waste material from the center of the hole once the cut is complete.
-
5
Test-fit the sink by placing the basin into the hole cut into the vanity top or counter top. Ensure the rim of the sink sits flush with the top surface all the way around. Remove the sink if needed to enlarge the hole. Use a file or rasp to remove extra material from the edge of the hole to make the sink fit better, if necessary. Place the sink back into the hole.
-
6
Apply a bead of caulking around the exterior rim of the sink to make a waterproof seal between the sink and the top surface of the vanity top or countertop. Wipe up any excess caulk with a rag.

Tips & Warnings
Install the faucet to the sink before the sink is placed into the mounting hole of the vanity top or counter top. This will make faucet installation much easier, since you will not have to secure the faucet retaining nuts from underneath the sink. Use the instructions that came with the faucet for faucet and plumbing installation.
Wear eye protection before using a power drill or jigsaw. Flying debris could cause injury to your eyes without goggles.
