How to Clean the Workings of a Regulator Clock
A regulator clock is commonly referred to as a "pendulum" clock. You may also know them as "grandfather" clocks. These clocks are made up of many internal components, and the regulator is what keeps the pendulum swinging in accurate time. These clocks require routine maintenance, and part of this maintenance is cleaning. Cleaning the inner workings of the clock is the best way to ensure the unit functions properly. Open the front case of the clock to expose the inner workings, such as the weights and pendulum.

Lift the pendulum up to unhook it from its latch and remove it.

Dust the inside of the clock with your feather duster, thoroughly dusting the weights and pulleys.

Wipe the pendulum down with a microfiber cloth.

Replace the pendulum in the clock and shut the front case.
