How to Crochet a Puff Stitch on a Loom
Crochet a puff stitch, which is also known as a popcorn or bobble stitch, onto your knitting loom to add texture to your project. Loom knitting is a faster way to knit, because it utilizes numerous pegs on a frame, which is often circular. Yarn is wrapped onto the loom, and a crochet tool is used to hook a multitude of stitches on the loom at each peg, rather than making one stitch at a time with knitting needles. Brims or cuffs for socks and hats can be fabricated with raised horizontal rows -- using a popcorn, bobble or puff stitch on a loom.

1
Stitch single stitches on your loom using the yarn. Wrap each peg -- which should be facing you -- on your loom clockwise with your yarn. Repeat until each peg is wrapped twice. Hook the bottom row of yarn over the top row of yarn and over the peg, using your hook crochet tool. Repeat with all the pegs in a clockwise fashion to create single stitches.

2
Wrap the first peg clockwise with your yarn, which is also called e-wrapping, to start the puff stitch on the loom. Knit over using your crochet tool, by bringing the bottom yarn over the top wrapped yarn and over the peg.

3
Wrap or e-wrap around the same peg again. Hook the bottom yarn over the top yarn and over the peg. E-wrap a third time and hook the bottom yarn over the peg. Push the stitching down inside the loom.
-
4
Repeat Step 3, e-wrapping the same peg and hooking it over two more times. You are creating the same stitch a total of five times.
-
5
Look into your loom and at the previous stitches. Pull the last stitch loop before you began the puff or popcorn stitch over the peg, using your crochet tool. This was five stitches ago.
-
6
Knit over by hooking the bottom yarn over the top yarn and over the peg. E-wrap the neighboring peg to the right or clockwise. Knit the stitch by bringing the bottom yarn over the top yarn and over the peg. Do not create the puff or popcorn stitch here. Instead, skip a peg.

7
E-wrap the next peg to the right, to create the next puff stitch. Hook the yarn over to create the stitch. Repeat e-wrapping the peg and knitting it four more times, to form a total of five stitches. Create a single stitch at the next peg, and then use the puff stitch at the next peg. Repeat the pattern as needed.

Tips & Warnings
When creating a puff stitch, you may need to hold the yarn down on the peg, especially if the peg is short and your yarn is thick.
The stitch can be added anywhere on the loom, to create a bumpy texture.
The puff stitch can be spaced farther apart by skipping more pegs. This would form a more open knit look.
